Pre-med / Biosciences (Cell Biology and Genetics concentration) • Jones College • 1st year at Rice

I am currently a junior at Rice University, having transferred from Lone Star College Montgomery after earning my Associate of Science in May 2025. I am majoring in Biosciences with a concentration in Cell Biology and Genetics on the pre-med track, with the goal of attending medical school and specializing in cardiology. My transition to Rice has been smooth thanks to the Take Flight Program, my residential college, and reconnecting with faculty who first introduced me to research here. I am excited to participate in the Filipino Student Association’s Rice KASAMA dance group and the Rice Pre-Medical Society. Lastly, my best advice is to embrace opportunities outside your comfort zone because you’ll end up learning so much more about yourself.
