Hey everyone! My name is Katie Peña and I’m a Junior student at Rice university majoring in English with a minor in Creative Writing. I transferred from Lone Star College- Kingwood with my Honors Associates of Arts degree; while there, I saw firsthand the talent and dedication of community college students in the humanities and social sciences. With a mentorship-forward approach, I hope to provide a lens on these programs at Rice—though small, very strong! I look forward to sharing my experiences, building connections, and helping you navigate your own path to a competitive university!
