Mechanical Engineering • McMurtry College • 1st year at Rice

Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I’m a first-year transfer student from Lone Star College - Montgomery majoring in mechanical engineering. I first got involved in research through projects including water treatment, lithium extraction, and sustainability, and I’m excited to continue exploring those interests at Rice. I also hope to get involved on campus through organizations like Engineers Without Borders, HACER, and SHPE. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned from my own transfer experience and help make the process a little easier for future Take Flight students!
