Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology • Jones College • 1st year at Rice

Hello! I am a first-generation student from Colombia. I received my associates of science degree from Lone Star College Tomball before transferring to Rice. I enjoy outdoor activities, and anything that has to do with movement. I am looking forward to doing research in the kinesiology department at Rice, getting involved in the Salsa club, boxing club, and explore cultural clubs such as HACER. The biggest piece of advice I would give to Take Flight students is to never give up after the first “no.” Smart, controlled persistence can be the difference between seizing an opportunity and wondering what “could have been.”
