Biosciences with Biochemistry Concentration • Baker College • 1st year at Rice

Hello everyone! My name is Aaron, and I came to Rice from the Honors College at Lone Star College-University Park. I first discovered Rice through Lone Star and later spent the summer after my freshman year here for a research internship, which fully convinced me that Rice was where I wanted to continue my education. I then began commuting to campus several days a week to continue the research I had started at Rice before eventually transferring here. Now, I’m majoring in biosciences with a concentration in biochemistry, with plans to attend medical school and become a physician-scientist. My advice to current Take Flight students is to never underestimate where one opportunity can lead. Going a little beyond what is expected can introduce you to a new field, connect you with a mentor, and sometimes even change the trajectory of your career.
